We didn’t expect to start our Friday morning with frozen pickle juice, but such is the life of a taste tester on SiriusXM’s Wake Up with Taylor. Honestly, it wasn’t as bad as you’d think. In fact, it was quite delicious and oddly refreshing! In addition to the salty liquid, we sampled a bevy of sweet options. From low-calorie dessert biscuits to alcoholic cold brew coffee, check out our very opinionated thoughts below:
Van Holten’s Pickle-Ice Freeze Pops
Step aside, Gatorade. Who’d a thunk that pickle juice would now be the hangover remedy of our dreams? It’s packed with electrolytes, calorie-free, and super bold in flavor. What’s not to love? You may have to get over the slushy consistency, but think of it as salty snow.
Snack Factory Dessert Thins
If you’re looking to satisfy a sweet tooth at only 120 calories per serving (four biscuits), these crispy treats may be worthy of a spot on your grocery list. Lemon Tart was a clear standout while Brownie failed to deliver. We don’t really have much else to say about this baisc dessert option, but we do think they’d pair well with an evening coffee or cup of tea. Pinkies up!
Cookie Pop Popcorn
We weren’t blown away by this one (it tasted like chocolate kettle corn, not Oreos), but we also couldn’t stop noshing on it. It could just be popcorn’s addictive qualities that kept us going back for more, but this indulgence would certainly benefit from actual chunks of cookies mixed in (and not just a fine dusting). That’d certainly change the nutritional profile, though.
Welch’s Fruit Rolls
Long live the ’90s! If you’ve been craving a Fruit-by-the-Foot, Welch’s has rolled out the next best thing: a fruit roll. We sampled the berry flavor, but can attest that tropical punch and strawberry are equally as delicious. Just quit touting the “made with real fruit” slogan. The next two ingredients are sugar and corn syrup, so the fruit benefits kind of get lost in the shuffle.
Bad Larry’s Cold Hard Coffee
This is probably one of the worst things we’ve ever sampled on the show. Frankly, we’re not entirely sure who is drinking the stuff. It tastes like the vomit-flavored Bertie Bott’s Every Flavour Bean from Harry Potter. A hard pass from the crew. Sorry not sorry.
