New week, still the same winter cold. And what’s the best remedy to snow, runny noses, and chapped lips? Snacks. Lots and lots of snacks.
For this week’s Friday Food Finds on the Taylor Strecker Show, we brought a bevy of chips, candy, crackers, and jerky to sample. As always, some were hits and some were misses, but we’re recapping *all* of them below so you can ultimately decide what tastes best yourself. Check out the new products that these companies have to offer. Which one are you excited to try most?
Wavy Pringles (Sweet and Tangy BBQ)

Strangely, these reminded us a lot of McDonald’s french fries and barbecue sauce. While we’re not entirely sure we’d ditch the traditional Pringle, these are definitely a thicker alternative that could be perfect for scooping and dipping. They’re also significantly more potato-ey for those who like less flavor and more chip. Overall, not terrible, but not our favorite.
Cheez-It Snap’d (Doucle Cheese/Cheddar Sour Cream & Onion)

Taylor is a self-proclaimed Cheez-It freak, but was not a fan of the brand’s latest iteration: Snap’d. Chanel and I, on the other hand, enjoyed these tremendously. We love a good dusting of familiar chip flavors and sour cream and onion was the perfect pairing with cheddar. Do not open a bag after partaking in marijuana-related activities, though. That bag will be gone within seconds.

DELICIOUS! Those who obsess over Nacho Cheese Doritos are in for a serious treat. This spicy version delivers all of the familiar flavors of Nacho Cheese, but with a serious (and necessary) kick. Yet again, we have another dangerous munchies food option on our hands. Once you try one, you have to try the rest of the bag.
Stryve Biltong (Teriyaki)

Wow! We were extremely impressed with Stryve’s biltong. It definitely has what it takes to give standard jerky a run for its money, particularly with its thin slices and easy-to-chew texture. We also dig the flavor variety—Zesty Garlic is one of my favs, along with Teriyaki (which we tried in studio). Major yum!
Tillamook Beef Jerky (Black Pepper)

ZERO SUGAR. We repeat: ZERO SUGAR. It’s extremely difficult to find a jerky on the market that slaps these words on its label and Tillamook’s black pepper variety more than delivered in taste and texture. For all of you paleo and keto crazies (and yes, that includes me), this will be your new go-to snack.
gimMe Seaweed Thins (Sriracha Almond)

Did these taste awful? No. Is it the first thing we’re reaching for when we’re craving a mid-afternoon snack? Probs not. While we appreciate the crunchy texture and subtle spiciness, the sweet element threw everything off. Please just let the seaweed shine and don’t mask it with sugar and rice syrup. That being said, gimME’s plain seaweed snacks are some of the best on the market! We’ll take ours with wasabi.
Jelly Belly Recipe Mix Jelly Beans

Jelly Belly truly hit a home run with these unique flavor combos. They’re so realistic that the company should consider changing the name from Recipe Mix to Molecular Gastronomy. PB&J and Blueberry Muffin were the two standouts, with Lemon Meringue Pie coming in at a close third. Needless to say, these are absolutely going right into our Jelly Belly dispenser (which exists and is amazing.)
