Coca-Cola, in a new collaboration with Netflix’s hit vintage-era series “Stranger Things,” is looking to transport us back to 1985 and turn taste buds upside down (get it?). This Thursday, “New Coke”— the tepidly-received spin on the world-famous Coca-Cola that landed on shelves for just 74 days in 1985—is back to mark the third season premiere of another ode to 80s nostalgia, “Stranger Things.”
Here’s How to Get Some
If you happen to live in New York City, head down to vintage arcade and bar, Barcade Chelsea, at 6 p.m. ET on Thursday, May 21. Barcade will open to the public for the evening so New Yorkers can snag a can of New Coke from an “upside-down” “Stranger Things”-inspired vending machine, and go a few rounds of Pac-Man.
For anyone outside of New York, Coca-Cola is planning to release a limited number of 12-ounce cans of New Coke for purchase via the Coke Store, as part of a larger bundle that includes limited-edition “Stranger Things” glass Coke bottles.
