And as it turns out, the sheet mask trend isn’t super great for mother earth.
Not only are DIY food masks a great way to save the sea turtles and reduce food waste, they are easy and fun to make. Mixing ingredients for beauty allows for the perfect opportunity to play with your food, and nothing provides the skin with the properties of an avocado better than an actual avocado.

Banana Face Mask
Some people make banana bread with their rotting bananas, but we suggest this banana based face mask. Bananas are full of vitamin A, which keeps skin moist and helps to tone skin. After mashing the ingredients together, leave on for about 15 minutes and wash off with warm water. Because of the honey, you’ll want to wash with a cleanser afterwards. Post mask, use the leftover peels to reduce any puffiness under eyes.

Coffee Face Mask
We use coffee daily to wake up our bodies, but many beauticians claim caffeine also has the necessary properties to “wake up” our skin. What do we mean by wake up? Well, coffee is a naturally strong antioxidant known for preventing signs of aging and protecting from harmful free radicals (aka, skin damage or even cancer). In addition, caffeine has a temporary effect of “plumping” skin and reducing dark circles.
