Hair of the Dog Pancake Recipes Inspired by Your Favorite Booze

Consuming even more alcohol after a night of poor decision-making may sound like the absolute worst idea ever, but hair of the dog (the act of drinking more booze to reduce the effects of a hangover) has been a proven remedy for many late-night partygoers.

While we’re not really interested in putting this theory to the test, we’re happy to recommend some liquor-inspired pancake recipes that may just do the trick. It’s certainly got to be a more enjoyable experience to nosh on breakfast food (which simultaneously soaks up the booze) than chug another cocktail, right? Right. Scroll down to check them out!

Mojito Pancakes

At the very least, the mint in these Cuban-inspired pancakes will make your breath smell better. And that’s something we all could benefit from.

People Are Actually Tanning with Coca-Cola This Summer

Aside from being one of the most iconic soft drinks of all time, Coca-Cola is multifunctional. The bubbly beverage has proven to clean toilets, strip rust from bolts, and even remove bugs from a dirty windshield. Thus, it comes as no surprise that some bold “beauty enthusiast” decided to test Coke’s fullest potential by dousing him or herself in the sweet, sticky liquid as a base for summer tanning.

We know what you may be thinking: why? Just WHY? But shockingly, Coke’s caramel color and acidic properties may actually help to achieve that desired sun-kissed glow. In fact, it has inspired message board topics and Yahoo! Answers conversations from all over the world.

According to Allure, the trend has become increasingly more popular in the states, which means we are either the dumbest or most clever inhabitants on this earth. Dermatologists, unfortunately (though not shockingly), seem to think the former, as Dr. Joshua Zeichner, director of cosmetic and clinical research in dermatology at Mount Sinai Hospital, tells the magazine that “while some feel that Coca-Cola can speed up your tan, it actually can be dangerous, and I recommend staying away from it.”

“Applying it to the skin may lead to a temporary darkening or staining of the skin, but because sodas are acidic, it may exfoliate dead cells, enhancing the ability of UV light penetrate into the skin. Ultimately, this may increase your risk of a sun burn,” he adds.

Even with stern warnings from medical professionals, we’re sure beachgoers will continue to engage in the risky behavior. Because let’s be completely honest, if you have zero qualms about putting 39 grams of canned sugar into your body on a daily basis, damaged skin and premature aging are the least of your concerns.

We’ll stick to good, old-fashioned Coppertone and bottled water, please.
