Stella’s New Chalice Is Fit for a Royal Wedding

With Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s royal wedding on the horizon, everyone wants to get in on the celebratory occasion. Stella Artois is no different. The Belgian beer brand just unveiled a new chalice in honor of the event.

“We’re excited for the happy couple and want to mark this festive occasion with a proper toast!” said Anna Rogers, brand director of Stella Artois. “We at Stella Artois know a thing or two about hosting memorable moments big and small, so we raise a Regal Chalice in celebration.”

The limited edition glass is decked out in gold and even featured 19 gilded icons that commemorate different milestones in the couple’s relationship. It’s like a regal game of “I Spy,” as you try to find and decipher them all.

Some are more obvious and romantic than others. And some are purely delightful from a culinary perspective. There’s a doodle of bananas, which is a nod to the first Instagram pic Meghan Markle posted which fueled speculation of her relationship with Prince Harry (ah, modern love!). There’s also a roast chicken in honor of the first meal they cooked following their engagement. We’re pretty sure the ice cream cone is on there because, who doesn’t love ice cream? Not even royals are immune to a sweet tooth. We’ll let you find and decode the other 16 on your own.

Stella also concocted a cocktail in honor of the upcoming nuptials. The Le Cidre Royale is inspired by the royal wedding cake. Try making it yourself by combining the following ingredients.

  • .5 oz Gin
  • .5 oz Elderflower Liqueur
  • 1 oz Rosé Champagne
  • 3 oz Stella Artois Cidre

It can be enjoyed with or without a royal chalice in hand. Even a coffee mug will do in a pinch. Because cocktails are fancy no matter how you drink them.

Nut-Free “Peanut Butter” Chocolate Chip Cookies

Sunflower Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies

Birthdays and holidays in the daycare classroom involve some culinary creativity. Most schools are nut-free these days, and a lot of our son’s friends also have egg allergies or gluten sensitivities.

So recently, I decided to develop a recipe for chocolate chip cookies that everyone could eat.

My secret ingredient? Sunflower butter! It imparts a nutty flavor similar to peanut butter, but is much more allergy-friendly.

How to Make Creamy Sunflower Seed Butter

Sunflower Seed Butter Recipe

Before we had our toddler son, I used to make a lot of homemade pantry staples. Yogurt? Check. Bread? Check. Nut butter? Check. These days, though, because time is tight, many of our homemade staples have been replaced with good store-bought versions.

But I’m still making my nut and seed butter! It’s so quick and simple—and I like that you can control exactly what’s in it.
