Friday Food Finds: Algae Lemonade, Kalamata Chocolate, Banana Almond Butter, and More!

We’re crying over the end of summer, but not over the influx of fall-flavored food products! And no, we’re not talking about the ever-so-notorious pumpkin spice. Your grocery store is well-stocked with options that go beyond the most basic of seasonal tastes.

To kick off the weekend and the arrival of cooler temperatures (JK – it’s still over 80 degrees in NYC), we sampled a handful of new and limited edition finds on SiriusXM’s Wake Up with Taylor. All in all, it was a huge success. Scroll down to check them out!

Cassava Crunch Yuca Root Chips

If you’re looking for a grain-free alternative to your everyday cracker, look no further than the beloved yuca root. This versatile tuber lends itself to fries, steamed side dishes, as well as a buttery, mashed variety, but this time, it’s getting the dipping vessel treatment. Cassava Crunch‘s beet and goat cheese flavor is superb, but hummus would make it even better.

Daily Greens Green Lemonade

We’re not sure why Taylor has an aversion (or allergy!) to stevia, but we think it’s the best all-natural sugar alternative you can find. Daily Greens is an incredible company with a commitment to nutritious cold-pressed juices and lemonades. The Green Lemonade’s tartness and spice makes it a clear winner, especially for those who can’t let go of the tastes and smells of summer.

Brooklyn Crafted Extra Spicy Sugar Free Ginger Beer

We love ourselves some unfiltered, spicy ginger beer, but we don’t love ourselves some sugar. Luckily for us, Brooklyn Crafted has created a sugar free, stevia-sweetened (sorry, Taylor!) alternative to one of their bestsellers, which makes this bev a hit. In fact, we’re totally planning to shake up some Moscow Mules during tonight’s happy hour. And we’re definitely using this stuff.

MaraNatha Banana Peanut Butter

MaraNatha has certainly made its mark on the nut better scene (and not just because of their hilarious commercials.). Aside from the introduction of no sugar, no sodium-added almond and peanut butters, we were particularly excited about the company’s flavored spreads that—in line with their slogan— truly don’t need jam. The velvety-smooth banana peanut butter was no exception. Long gone are the days of finding a perfect banana and dousing it in peanut butter. We’d eat this straight from the jar.

ChocoCurb Chocolate Subscription Box (Chocolat Moderne)

We may have found our new favorite subscription box. ChocoCurb introduces its subscribers to the most unique, delicious, gourmet chocolate concoctions from around the country. Today we sample caramel bars from Chocolat Moderne and they were not only beautiful to look at, but tasted fantastic! We particularly enjoyed the dark chocolate option with kalamata olives and olive oil. It may sound peculiar, but the early morning indulgence was the perfect balance between sweet and salty. Yum!
