Unicorn Froot Loops Exist Because They Weren’t Colorful Enough Already

Just when we thought the unicorn craze died like the old Taylor Swift, Kellogg’s had to go and release a limited edition unicorn flavor for one of its most iconic cereals: Froot Loops.

We know what you’re thinking. How does one make an already rainbow food even more mystical and magical? By stripping the ROYGBI from ROYGBIV and adding a pink and neutral, of course. Pink and purple are the unofficial colors of unicorns, after all.

Unfortunately for unicorn-loving Americans, these boxes are only available in the UK’s Asda supermarkets. (But if we were in Vegas and had the opportunity to place a bet, our money would be on these sugary bites making a stateside debut soon.)

Aside from the unicorn-adorned boxes popping up on social media, Kellogg’s confirmed the news with a simple tweet stating: “It’s not a myth!” And according to The Sun, the unicorn bites will trot their way into other grocery stores in “three weeks’ time.”

While these don’t look as pretty as Starbucks’ unicorn Frappucinos, there’s no denying the delicious taste of Froot Loops. In fact, we’d always rather eat our calories than sip an overpriced milkshake from an international coffee chain. But we digress…

For those interested in the price, boxes retail for £2.79 a pop, which is 29p more than the original. How else are unicorns able to afford their glitter-enhanced dye treatments? As if those pink and purple hues were ever natural. And what does Toucan Sam have to say about all of this? It’d be like taking Oprah Winfrey off the cover of O Magazine and photographing a fictional princess in her place. She probably wouldn’t be the happiest person in the world, and who can blame her?

UK friends: Snag yourself a box and let us know if this iteration of a tried-and-true trend is worth the hype.
