Jon Favreau and Roy Choi to Star in ‘The Chef Show’ on Netflix

This week Netflix announced new food programming including “The Chef Show,” a new series from the minds and oven mitts of Jon Favreau and Roy Choi.

“The Chef Show” brings the actor/director (Favreau) and award-winning chef (Choi) together again for the first time since “Chef,” their critically acclaimed 2014 film. In the new Netflix show, premiering June 7, Favreau and Choi embark on all new food-focused adventures, both in the kitchen and on the road, experimenting with recipes, cooking techniques, and collaborating with guest stars like Gwyneth Paltrow, Robert Downey Jr., Tom Holland, and Bill Burr.

Other big chefs and foodie folks show up on the loose format program too, including David Chang, and renowned Texas pitmaster Aaron Franklin, who shows Choi and Favs how to smoke a brisket, Texas style. A passion project for both, Favreau and Choi embrace their shared love of food and bringing folks together over a delicious meal.

“The Chef Show” premiers on June 7, with a slate of episodes that include dinner in Atlanta with the “Avengers cast, a heartfelt tribute to LA Times food writing icon Jonathan Gold, and the aforementioned Aaron Franklin sharing secrets for his famous Franklin Barbecue brisket.
