‘GBBO’ Star Benjamina Ebuehi on Her Must-Have Baking Tools & the Importance of Belonging

Welcome to Chowhound’s Table Talk podcast, where Executive Editor Hana Asbrink chats with some of the most interesting names and newsmakers in the food space. Today: Our very first episode with Benjamina Ebuehi.

Any fan of the cult hit, “The Great British Bake Off,” will recognize Benjamina Ebuehi. Her creative and meticulous bakes were lauded by the judging panel, helping to sustain her far into the show’s seventh season.

I had the opportunity to speak to her about her first cookbook, “The New Way to Cake,” as well as a number of social-minded, community-building ventures she currently participates in, including Luminary Bakery and The Sister Table. Tune is as we talk about her life growing up in a food-loving Nigerian family (that didn’t bake!) in London, her most-trusted baking tools, her favorite American sweets, and what life navigating the food media space is like post-“GBBO.”
